NET June 2024 Revised Exam Schedule – check latest exam date!
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the June 2024 UGC NET-JRF Exam on June 18th, 2024 to determine the eligibility for Assistant Professor, award the Junior Research Fellowship, and Ph.D. admissions.
The NTA conducted the exam in Paper-Pan (offline mode) at 1205 exam centers across 317 cities nationwide. And this year, a record-breaking 11,21,225 candidates registered for the exam.
Shift-wise Participation
- Shift I: Registered – 5,80,833; Appeared – 4,73,484
- Shift II: Registered – 5,40,392; Appeared – 4,35,096
Total Appeared: 9,08,580 candidates successfully participated across both shifts.

Cancelation of NTA exam 2024
On June 19, 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) received concerning reports from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. These reports suggest potential breaches in the integrity of the examination in question.
To maintain the highest standards of transparency and fairness in the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has decided to annul the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. A fresh examination will be arranged, and specifics will be disseminated. Concurrently, the matter has been entrusted to the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) for a thorough and rigorous investigation.
NET June 2024 Revised Exam Schedule
On Friday (June 28, 2024), the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced fresh dates for the re-conduct of UGC NET JRF June 2024 exams, which were canceled due to alleged irregularities.
The NTA will now conduct the University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam between August 21 and September 4, 2024.
UGC NET June 2024 exam will be held in online mode
This year, the UGC-NET exam was taken on paper-pan (offline mode) on the same day for all the subjects, which is different from how it was done before.
But, for the rescheduled exam, the NTA will go back to the old method. The exam will be now conducted in CBT Mode and will happen over two weeks for 83 subjects.
The cancellation of the UGC-NET exam has caused uncertainty and anxiety among students who have prepared rigorously for these exams. The NTA’s announcement of new dates is expected to bring some relief to these students.
