Banaras Hindu University is formally known as Central hindu college, is a central university which was established in the year 1916 by madan mohan malaviya. it is considered to be largest residential university in Asia with over 30,000 students on rolls, The main campus is spread over 1,300 acres, BHU has six institutes, 14 faculties and about 140 departments. It offers UG, PG, Doctorate courses in various different subjects including Psychology. BHU maintains six institutes including IIT BHU and Institute of medical science. BHU every year conducts undergraduate (UET) and postgraduate (PET) entrance tests for admission to UG and PG courses for which registrations begin usually in February–March. BHU is the only university which has its own helipad and airstrips for NCC training purpose.

Candidates have to appear for the entrance examination known as UET
Eligibility: Candidate must have passed intermediate exam with more than 50% marks.
The forms are generally released in the month of February.
The Entrance exam is generally conducted in the month of May.

Admission procedure: The university shall conduct the entrance test known as Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) usually in the month of April/May.
