Eligibility:

The candidates must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria to apply for the M.Phil Clinical Psychology course at IMH Chennai.

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s as well as a Master’s in Psychology/Applied Psychology/Counseling Psychology/Clinical Psychology with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
  • Both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees should be in full-time regular mode and from a UGC-recognized University.
  • The candidates eligible under SC/SCA/ST/BC/BCM/MBC categories must have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • The reservation on the available seats applies only to the Natives of Tamil Nadu State with a valid Nativity Certificate.
  • Therefore, candidates who have completed VIII to XII standards and undergraduate and postgraduate education in schools and colleges respectively in Tamil Nadu, need not enclose a ‘Nativity Certificate.’
  • However, candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu but studied from VIII to XII standard or Under Graduation or Graduation either partially or completely in Schools/ Colleges situated in the outskirts of Tamil Nadu must organize a native certificate.
  • Do not upload Permanent Residence Certificates as Nativity Certificates.

The selection process maintains a 1:1 ratio for both gender candidates. If candidates of either gender are unavailable, available candidates will fill the seats.

Reservation shall be as follows: –

Open Competition – 31%

Backward Class – 30%

Most Backward / Denotified – 20%

SC – 18%

ST – 1%

Entrance Examination Pattern:

Number of Questions: 120 MCQs

Each question will carry 1 mark.

Negative Marking: There will be negative marks of 0.25 marks for incorrect responses.

ndicating more than one response results in an incorrect response, which earns a zero mark.

The Maximum marks will be computed to 60.

There will be no Rechecking/Re-evaluation/ Re-totalling of answers.

The Final Merit list was drawn for a Total mark of 100 by computing.

1) 60 marks for the Entrance Examination.

2) 40 marks for the Interview.
