  • The first step for a Candidate is required to complete a Bachelor’s degree (Psychology will be preferable). If you do not complete the Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology then the next step is a must for you. A Bachelor in Psychology degree takes three years to complete and includes coursework in areas such as statistics, research methods, and the history and theories of psychology.
  • After Completing the Bachelor’s degree, the next step should be opting for a master in psychology Programme. The candidate should remember that a Master’s Degree is always better than a diploma course. This typically takes two years to complete and includes coursework in areas such as psychological assessment, therapy, and research.
  • By Getting a Master’s Degree in psychology, the candidate can choose to Enroll for various certification or internship Programmes that will help him to work and learn in a professional setting. It provides hands-on experience working with clients under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
  • A Candidate can now also opt for a PhD in Psychology to get the title of a doctor. These programs typically take four to seven years to complete and include coursework, research, and clinical training.

As far as the Licensing procedure is concerned, after getting a Master’s Degree in psychology or getting a PhD the candidate earns enough experience to work in the settings of Child Counseling and therapy.
