About UGC NET/JRF
The UGC NET/JRF is a nationwide exam that verifies if Indian citizens are qualified to be Assistant Professors or attain an Assistant Professor + Junior Research Fellowship for Indian colleges and institutions. The University Grant Commission (UGC) has given responsibility to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to organize the UGC-NET exam. The UGC-NET exam happens two times each year (typically in June and December). The test contains two parts. The first part is a general paper that assesses teaching and research skills. The second part concentrates on the subject you’re applying for (in this case, Psychology). In total, candidates need to respond to 150 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) in three hours. NTA conducts this exam in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Age Limit for NET/JRF
No Upper age limit is there for candidates seeking to apply for the UGC-NET examination to be eligible for the Assistant Professor position. However, if applicants are aspiring to attain the position of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), the age of candidates from the general category should not exceed 30 years. It is remarkable that there is a generous relaxation of up to 5 years in the maximum age limit for candidates who belong to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD category, third gender, and women candidates.
