In this article we will brief you about GRADUATE APTITUDE EXAM IN ENGINEERING (GATE) Exam.
Graduate Aptitude Exam in Engineering is an Aptitude Exam conducted every year since 1983. The total no. of subjects in which students can write in 27 subjects. It would be conducted in various cities across the country. GATE will be conducted in Computer based Test (CBT) by various IITs every year on behalf of the National Coordination Board GATE Department of Higher Education. It also serves as an Entrance exam for Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.

The Purpose This Exam serves as Aptitude exam for the following purposes
It is used for admission to various Masters Programmes in various Institutes including IITs, the other purpose of exam is in recruitment in public sector organisations such as Indian Oil, ONGC etc.
The Exam is conducted every year, each year one institute conducts this Exam. The GATE Exam 2021 will be conducted by prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. GATE Exam is a gateway admission to IITs for Masters and Doctorate Programme in Psychology.
Also IITs will separately release the admission form for admission to Masters and PhD in Psychology.

The Exam will be Computer Based test (CBT)
Age Limit there is no age limit to write the gate exam.
Eligibility criteria of the Exam: The Candidates who possesses Graduation degree in the field of Engineering, science, arts, Commerce, technology etc. The candidates who are currently in the third year of graduation or 4th year of graduation are eligible to apply.
Master’s degree in Psychology Currently in the 1st /2nd/3rd/4thyear or already completed.
The Score of the GATE Exam would be valid till 3 years.
Duration of the exam will be 3 hours.
There are two sections 1 General Aptitude
2 Candidates selective subject.
Types of Questions
Paper would be entirely MCQ Type
MCQ – Multiple Choice Question, there would be a question will four alternates, candidates has to choose one correct option.
Penalty; There would be penalty of 1/3 marks for every wrong answer for 1 mark question, and penalty of 2/3 marks for every incorrect question of 2 marks.
MSQ- Carrying 1 to 2 marks in paper, there would be no negative marking.
NAT- Candidates has to type the answer in integer type, there would be no negative marking.
GATE Psychology paper pattern
General Aptitude 15 marks
Section B1 Reasoning and Comprehension- Total 25 marks
In this section there would a total of 15 Questions, 5 questions will carry 1 marks. 10 Questions will be of 2 marks.
Psychology Paper will carry a total of 60 marks. There would be 40 questions.
20 Questions with 1 mark each
20 Questions with 2 marks each.
General Aptitude: 15 Marks and
Subject Questions: 85 Marks
